Auchan City was completed in Bucharest’s Crangasi area. The €20m investment includes an Auchan hypermarket with a sales area of 5,000 sqm and a 2,400 sqm shopping gallery. Immochan was in charge of construction, which took six months.
Auchan entered the Romanian market in 2006 with a hypermarket in Bucharest’s Titan area. The French retailer currently has 11 hypermarket in Romania, including three in the capital.
Auchan Romania has 4,700 employees, making it one of the leading employers in the country.
Auchan posted a RON 1.8bn turnover in Romania last year.
