Auchan stepping up investments in Russia in 2016

The French retailer Auchan will increase its investment in Russia up to RUB 17bn in 2016 and plans to open stores in a variety of formats. In 2015 the holding company investing in development in Russia amounted to RUB 13-14bn. Auchan plans to open four stores by the end of the year in in Moscow, Novokuznetsk, and Vladimir. On April 15, Auchan City opened in the Riviera metropolitan shopping center. In addition, it plans to launch around 40 supermarkets. Pascal Delmott, sales director at Auchan City, said four Auchan City hypermarkets should also open this year in Russia in Kemerovo, Tyumen, Novosibirsk and Moscow.
