Billa’s profit up 6% on Czech market

Billa’s Czech network reported a profit of CZK 361m in 2015, up 6 percent y-o-y. Revenues increased by 1 percent to CZK 21.6bn, the company wrote in its 2015 annual report. Billa opened five new stores in 2015, increasing its chain in the Czech Republic to 204 locations by the end of the year. Billa, part of the German REWE Group, also finalized its stop&shop project, a network of smaller food stores at Shell gas stations. Billa currently operates 43 such units. The chain has 5,500 employees on the Czech market.
