7 September 2018

Pay rises appear to be the favorite weapon for retailers trying to win the battle grocery store supremacy. Billa supermarkets will raise the salaries of their employees by 7.3 percent in September, the third time in the last year that they’ve done this. The company did not reveal the average wage of their employees, but the employees affected will see an increase of around CZK 2,000. According to unions, the average wage in the Czech retail sector is 18,000, with foreign companies paying substantially more than Czech ones.
