BOGNER, the prestigious German fashion brand known for its athluxury sports fashion, is set to enter the Romanian market with the opening of its first store in the country. Located within The Grand Avenue shopping gallery on the ground floor of the JW Marriott Bucharest Grand Hotel, the new boutique spans 131 square meters and is scheduled to open on November 1, 2024. The expansion represents an investment of approximately €500,000 and was facilitated by Cushman & Wakefield Echinox Real Estate consultancy.
The Bucharest store will operate as a franchise under Iceland Romania, a subsidiary of Iceland Bulgaria. Iceland Romania has represented BOGNER in Bulgaria for the past decade, operating three monobrand stores in Sofia and Bansko, along with four multibrand outlets.
Dana Radoveneanu, Head of Retail Agency at Cushman & Wakefield Echinox, noted the impressive growth of the luxury segment in Romania in recent years. “The entry of BOGNER into Romania fills a gap in the athluxury sports fashion market, showcasing the maturity of the local luxury landscape,” she stated. “Physical stores are vital for these brands as customer experience is key. The JW Marriott Bucharest Grand Hotel, a landmark luxury retail destination, is the perfect location for such a venture.”
