The Bricomarche chain has opened 11 new ‘home and garden’ shops in Q1 2024 and thus fulfilled more than 40% of its annual opening plan, the company reported. The brand exceeded the ceiling of 200 points of sale in Poland and strengthened its position in, among others, the Podkarpackie, Lubelskie and Silesian voivodeships.
From January to the end of March this year, the total retail area of the Bricomarche chain increased by more than 40,000 sqm, of which 28,000 sqm are sales rooms and 13,000 sqm are outdoor gardens, the company announced.
“We are consistently implementing the announced development of the chain and aiming to take the 3rd position on the Polish market, so I am extremely pleased that with the end of Q1 we can announce such a great success in terms of the number of new shops. It is important for us to reach as many customers as possible with the Bricomarché offer, in as many different locations as possible, in order to fully respond to the shopping needs of Poles. I am also pleased that the new openings include both brand new and well-known entrepreneurs, which shows how much trust they have in us. We are proud that, together with our franchisees, we are achieving our goals,” said Bricomarché general manager Katarzyna Jańczak-Stefanide.
The chain started 2024 with the opening of an outlet in Sędziszów Małopolski. This shop was the first of four new Bricomarché outlets in the Podkarpackie voivodship that have been launched since January. The next locations were Łańcut, Dębica and Leżajsk. The following provinces in terms of the number of new shops were followed by Śląskie (Ustroń, Ruda Śląska and Jaworzno) with three and Lubelskie (Międzyrzec Podlaski and Biała Podlaska) with two new outlets. Single openings were recorded in the Lubuskie (Świebodzin) and Dolnośląskie (Lubin) provinces. With the new outlets, the chain provided a total of over 250 new jobs, it was also reported.
Grupa Muszkieterów is an association of almost 500 independent Polish entrepreneurs managing Intermarche food supermarkets and Bricomarche home and garden supermarkets. In 2023, the turnover of the Muszkieterów Group was PLN 10.3 billion.
