Retail stock in Bucharest is expected to hit approximately 1 million sqm in 2015 after the openings of Mega Mall and an Auchan store in the city’s Drumul Taberei neighborhood. Following their completion, Bucharest will have a total of 25 shopping centers, retail parks and commercial galleries, a figure that’s comparable to cities like Prague and Budapest, according to a recent study published by DTZ Echinox. Tenants at AFI Palace Cotroceni and Baneasa Shopping City have the highest monthly rents in Bucharest, paying on average between €6,000 and €7,000 for 100 sqm, according to the study.
