Retail turnover on the Bulgarian market increased by 2.2 percent y-o-y in July, according to the latest statistics. The figures did not include the sale of motor vehicles and motorcycles. The increase was driven by a boost in food, beverage and cigarette sales (7.3 percent), followed by medicine (6.1. percent), car fuel and oil (3.5 percent) and fashion (2.8 percent). By comparison, there was a decrease in computer and communication device sales (8 percent) as well as home appliances, furniture and other items for domestic use (3 percent).
