Retail turnover on the Bulgarian market increased by 5.4 percent y-o-y and 0.9 percent m-o-m in August, according to preliminary data released by the National Statistics Institute. The figures do not include sales of motor vehicles and motorcycles. There was an 11-percent y-o-y increase for mail order houses.
Medical-related sales also saw a 10-percent jump, while sales of textiles, clothing, footwear and leather goods increased by 9.2 percent. Sales of food, beverages and tobacco increased by 8.7 percent.
