Carrefour sales in Romania increased by 3.6 percent in the first quarter to €277m. Globally, Carrefour sales in the first quarter rose 1.5 percent to €22.49bn.
Last year, in the first quarter, Carrefour Romania reported sales of €267 million. Exchange rate fluctuations aside, Carrefour sales rose in the first quarter of 2012 by 6.8 percent.
Carrefour Romania has a network of 52 supermarkets, 25 hypermarkets and five franchises. The retailer ended last year with sales of €1.18bn, up by 4.8 percent.
