Carrefour Romania reported improved turnoer in the third quarter, thanks to a hefty reduction in food VAT. “Sales in Romania in the stores open for at least 12 months rose strongly, boosted by the favorable effect of the strong reduction of VAT on food from June 1,” the French retailer said in a statement.
The retailer’s group turnover hit €21.5bn with sales in France rising to €10.3bn, a gain of 2.3 percent.
