Carrefour has added five more stores to its Romanian portfolio, bringing the total number of supermarkets in its regional network to 65. The French retailer rebranded the five stores it acquired from Argus and Dobrogea Group in October, and are now operating under the Carrefour Market name. They were originally known as Aliment Murfatlar.
Carrefour’s five new stores have sales area between 300 sqm and 400 sqm with four to five cash register each. The French chain is one of the largest local retailers, reporting more than €1.1bn in turnover last year.
