Castorama plans to add two new stores to its Polish chain this year. The DIY chain currently has 70 stores across the country, including five that went on-line in 2012. According to Polish media reports, the new openings are planned for Gliwice and Rybnik, but no precise date has been disclosed.
Sławomir Rogowiec of Castorama Polska says the store in Rybnik will have 7,500 sqm of space, while Castorama in Gliwice will offer 8,500 sqm. Active in Poland since 1994, Castorama currently has 460,000 sqm of retail space in operation, including two Brico Depot shops in Poznań and Szczecin.
