Catalyst Capital has acquired Olympia Olomouc, a 30,000 sqm regional shopping center from its owner Commerzbank. Details on the financial details of the deal have not been forthcoming, though the Czech News Agency claims the mall made a CZK 449m loss in 2018. Savills acted as an advisor on the deal. “We’re pleased to have had the opportunity to cooperate with a professional investor with such experience and profesionalism. The company is a market leader in its field and an expert in restructuring retail. The center hadn’t produced satisfying results in recent years but under the right leadership there’s a great deal of potential for growth,” said Fraser Watson, director of Savills’ capital markets division. He said the new owner planned to undertake a repositioning program.
