CBRE Global Investors has begun construction work on an extension to the Europa shopping center in Banská Bystrica. A new section of shopping space will replace rooftop parking space, with 1,400 sqm of extended retail area to be added to the mall. In addition, the work will result in a remodelled entrance to the shopping center. The center’s manager Tomáš Hollý says new space will enable the mall to add children’s goods to the retail mix. The extension is scheduled for completion before the end of 2017. Europa shopping center, completed in 2006, offers 37,500 sqm of retail space across three levels. In 2007, ING REIM bought the complex from the developer VAV Invest, eventually selling it to CBRE Global Investors.
