Chinese investors are considering the construction of an oil refinery worth EUR 2.1 billion in the city of Smederevo, the Serbian Council for Cooperation with Russia and China announced. The project will be discussed with a working group set up by the Serbian government and may be launched in April if an agreement is reached on all issues, the council said. The construction work is expected to take four years. The refinery will produce fuels according to Euro 6 standards. Companies from Germany and the US will participate with production refinery equipment.
