Galeria Olimpia by Echo Investment has been nominated for Best Retail Development at this years CIJ Award Poland to be held on 30th October 2013 at the Westin Hotel in Warsaw.
Galeria Olimpia is located at 6 Kolejowa Street in Bełchatów. Together with the neighbouring Echo shopping centre it creates a functionally combined shopping and service complex with a gross leasable area of 32,900 sqm. It includes two grocery hypermarkets: Tesco and Carrefour, as well as a Nomi DIY supermarket. The general contractor of the facility was Polimex-Mostostal SA. Its design was created in the MOFO Architekci architectural studio. The facility was opened on the 30th of November 2012. The construction of the project started in the spring of 2011. In less than two months Galeria Olimpia was visited by nearly half a million customers.
The CIJ Award Poland honors the best retail development to have been completed between 1 November 2012 and 30 September 2013 in Poland. Schemes will be judged upon a variety of criteria, including sophistication of development, commercial success, quality of tenants, road and/or alternative access routes, location and attention to environmental sustainability..
