Construction of high-tech institute starts in Brno

Construction of the Central European Institute of Technology (CEITEC) started in Brno. The total cost of the new high-tech, 25,000 sqm institute could reach CZK 5.2bn. The European Union is financing the project, which should be fully operational by 2014. Masaryk University and Brno University of Technology are involved in the CEITEC project and will both benefit when the institute is completed. CEITEC research will focus on nanotechnologies, advanced materials, structural biology, molecular medicine and brain research.
