Construction on COPA Centrum at Národní třída next to the My department store in Prague 1 is now expected to start in May. “The investor has promised to start works,“ the news daily Metro quotes Prague 1 mayor Oldřich Lomecký. Still, the plan could run into problems if agreement with the Prague’s Transport Authority has not been reached by that time. “The investor’s plan to start digging in May 2012 would require closing of the Národní metro station in July. The term has not yet been agreed,” warns Aneta Řeháková, the Transport Authority spokesperson. The mixed use project, developed together by COPA and CPI, would add 16,500 sqm of newly built office and 8,300 sqm of retail space on the Prague market, together with a residential component.
