Czech spent CZK 51.5bn on-line over the first six months of the year, an 11 percent rise from the 2017. The figures are from the online retailer Heureka.cz and from the Association for Electronic Commerce. Aktualne.cz quotes Heureka’s director Tomáš Braverman as saying “The pace of growth slowed slightly, but the first half of the year is always a bit weaker than the second. The main season for retailers, not only those on the Internet, is still coming.” He blamed the warm weather that began back in April on the slowdown in growth. The Association for Electronic Commerce Jan Teyška told Aktualne.cz that Czechs are broadening the range of goods they’re willing to buy on-line. “Until relatively recently, it wasn’t normal to buy groceries or drugstore goods from e-shops, but today it’s normal in the big cities.”
