Czech automotive revenues accelerate 7% in 2015

3 June 2016

Revenues of the Czech automotive industry reached CZK 912 bn in 2015, up by 7 percent y-o-y. The stats include only members of the Association of the automotive industry, which incorporates 90 percent of all businesses active in the sector. In all, the Czech automotive industry produced approximately CZK 1 trillion in revenues. Martin Jahn, president of the automotive association, says, however, that a lack of qualified labor will be a brake on growth in the sector, which also needs to invest more into research and development. Exports to EU countries produced 86 percent of the revenues. Last year saw the production of 1.3 million of cars in the Czech Republic, along with 1,000 trucks, 4,500 buses and 1,700 motorcycles.
