The Czech Post has offered for sale at auction a transport complex with a large plot of land in Satalice on the outskirts of Prague for a starting price of CZK 133.5 million. The land has an area of 20,228 square metres, which corresponds to CZK 6,593 per metre.

The property, located on the D10 motorway from Prague to Mladá Boleslav, includes a car wash, a car workshop, a garage, a fire station, a fire station, a retention tank, part of a petrol station or an administrative building that was used as an archive.

If successfully sold, it would be the most expensive property the post office has sold so far this year. A recent auction of real estate in Pankrác, which achieved a total price of about CZK 400 million, was cancelled by the company without giving any reason.

“This year, the Czech Post received over CZK 200 million for the sale of unnecessary property, the total amount for this year will depend on the sale of individual properties,” said spokesman Matyáš Vitík.

The post office plans to offer dozens of unneeded properties before the end of the year. These include post office buildings, administrative buildings, land and flats. The biggest sale is to be the building in Politických vězňů and Jindřišská streets, where the Main Post Office is located, with an estimated price of over CZK 1.3 billion. The company has so far offered it to state organisations as a priority.

By selling the real estate, the post office is trying to stabilise its economy. It ended last year with a loss of CZK 1.7 billion and expects a billion-dollar drop this year as well. Within two years, the company is to be transformed into a branch operator and a commercial parcel company.
