Czech Post Office eyes Prague 10 land for new HQ

6 August 2019

Czech Post Office boss Roman Knap told the daily E15 the company is planning to move its headquarters to Malešice – Prague 10. The company owns land there next to an existing postal facility on which it could build a new administrative in an effort to save money. Knap said that operations in the current HQ on Jindříšska street in central Prague cost Česká pošta CZK 100m annually. Spokesman Maytáš Vitík was quick to add that it’s a new idea and that there hasn’t been time yet to carry out a cost analysis or even set a time table for when construction could start. The plot appears to be located a couple hundred meters due north of the Hostivář Depo metro station at the end of the A line. In June, Knap admitted he was considering firing up to 7,000 of the company’s 30,000 employees.
