Household consumption will continue to give momentum to the Czech economy. Retail sales increased 5.6 percent y-o-y in January, up from 3 percent in December. Non-food retailers reported a 9.2-percent jump in revenues, according to data compiled by the Czech Statistic Office. Fuel also fared well, unlike groceries which remained flat. E-commerce reported the fastest growth, up by 27 percent. The sector further strengthened its market share, taking 20 percent of the total retail turnover. Automotive sales were up 12 percent.
