Shopping center turnover in the Czech Republic increased by 12.5 percent y-o-y in 2015, according to CBRE. The increase was similar across all sectors and unit sizes and was close to the historical maximums. The food sector reported an increase of 15 percent, while pharmacy turnovers rose 25 percent y-o-y. Travel agencies saw 9 percent year-on-year.
“Fashion is dominating both total space with 58 percent and number of units with 42 percent,” says Klára Bejblová, Head of Research & Consulting at CBRE. “However it was the only sector with a decrease in terms of the number of units. The highest increase of units, almost 10 percent y-o-y, was in House and Specialists and over 4 percent y-o-y in Food and Services.” Footfall increased by 3.7 percent and while the average basket value rose 9.1 percent, according to CBRE.
