Black Friday sales on the Czech market are expected to reach CZK 3bn this year. Czech retailers will extend the traditional one-day sales spree, started in the US, to an entire week or longer. Brick-and-mortar shops will join e-shops in offering discounts of up to 80 percent. Czech spending is expected to reach CZK 3.15bn between Nov. 21 and 27, up CZK 500m y-o-y. In 2015, shoppers spent CZK 2.61bn and CZK 2.22bn in 2014. The largest Czech e-shop, Alza.cz, launched its sale promotions last week, offering 80-percent discounts on 700 of its most popular items. Mall.cz is offering 43-percent discounts on the average on 160 items.
