Decathlon opening in Bratislava

10 April 2015

Decathlon will open its first store on the Slovak market today in Bratislava’s newly developed Bory neighborhood. The French sports retailer plans to open three other locations before the end of 2015: two more in Bratislava and one in Košice. Banská Bystrica and Žilina are also reportedly under consideration.

Construction on the Bory store started in October. It offers 9,000 sqm of retail space and a small playground, where shoppers can test the goods. Decathlon sells sports clothes and equipment under its own 20 labels. Decathlon is expected to open another store in Pharos Park located next to the Bratislava airport before summer.
