Decathlon will open its first store in Slovakia on April 10 in the new Bory Retail Zone in Bratislava. Another store should follow the following week at Pharos Park near the Bratislava airport, say market sources. The first outlet of the French sport retailer will be located in Penta Investments’ Bory retail zone next to Hornbach and Merkury Market. It is the eighth project in the 220 ha zone between Lamač and Devínska Nová Ves. Construction of the 4,000 sqm store started in October 2014. Košice and Banská Bystrica are also on Decathlon’s expansion map. The retailer bought a site in Košice next to Cassovia shopping center and in Banska Bystrica it plans to build an outlet next to Radvaň Park.
