Dedeman and Lidl are in talks with Plaza Centers to purchase 46,000 sqm of land in Iasi, which is currently valued at €7.28m, more than €4m less than its value in 2013. Dedeman signed a preliminary contract to buy 37,000 sqm of the land and has already paid a €2m advance, according to a financial report from the company. Lidl is interested in buying 9,000 sqm of the land currently owned by Plaza Center.
The land is located in a protected historic area. Plaza Centers put the land on the market because of restrictions imposed by local authorities. Plaza Centers had hoped to build a luxury shopping center on the plot.
