13 July 2015

Deka Immobilien revealed its plans to launch a new retail fund. Called Domus Einzelhandel Deutschland, the new vehicle will target German high street assets, with the aim of amassing €800m worth of assets, said Thomas Schmengler, head of sales and acquisitions at Deka Immobilien in Frankfurt. The fund manager recently inked a €700m deal with D&R Invest to take over 51 German retail inner-city properties, totaling 137,000 sqm of space, in Cologne, Hanover, Regensburg, Kiel and Lüneburg. Properties that D&R Invest took over from Centrum in 2012 are also part of the package. Deka is planning to place 44 properties, valued at €480m, in its new retail fund, while the rest will be disbursed into other vehicles.
