In a deal worth €290m, Deutsche Asset & Wealth Management (Deutsche AWM) has entered the Polish retail sector with the acquisition of Stary Browar, Poznań’s flagship shopping mall. The seller is Grażyna Kulczyk. This is Kulczyk’s second attempt to offload the project after takeover talks with Hedan collapsed in 2011. Offering 41,000 sqm of retail space, the shopping center will be added to Deutsche AWM’s Grundbesitz Europa vehicle. Delivered in 2003 as a revitalization of the Browar Huggera hall, Stary Browar was expanded in 2007. CBRE advised the seller, while Dentons acted for the vendor.
