DIYs targets smaller markets across Poland

19 October 2012

DIY store chains are looking for new markets across Poland, the daily Dziennik Gazeta Prawna reports, and are now targeting smaller cities. But analysts claim these chains could see drops in sales of up to 5 percent in 2012, after a 7.7 percent (PLN 37.9bn) increase posted in 2011. So far, just two chains are reporting higher sales compared with the same period last year: PSB Mrówka and Bricomarche, but no precise figures have been disclosed. Both DIYs expanded on the local markets this year, the newspaper writes, with players such as Castorama, Leroy Merlin and Obi hoping to follow in their footsteps next year.
