The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development will provide a €2.5m loan to fund energy-efficiency measures for up to 40 residential buildings in Sabac, western Serbia. The project is expected to reduce energy consumption, lower costs and ease CO2 levels by installing thermal insulation and modern heat-regulating appliances. EBRD is also working with the government of Vojvodina to improve energy efficiency in 80 public buildings, including schools, kindergartens and administrative buildings. EBRD has invested more than €5bn in 238 projects across Serbia.
