The German retail fund ECE European Prime Shopping Centre Fund II has acquired the La Carteria shopping center in Pompei. The 30,000 sqm shopping center, which opened in 2012, has 115 tenants including anchor tenants Conad, Mediaworld, H&M and Alcott. It’s located near the A3 freeway, serving a 20-minute catchment area of 540,000 inhabitants. ECE Italia will officially take over the property management and leasing of the property on Aug. 1, following a transaction in which it took over the units in Fondo Immobiliare Pompei. Dr. Volker Kraft, Managing Director ECE Real Estate Partners said that “Having acquired Megalò in Chieti with the first ECE Fund, this is our second investment in Italy… With more than seven million visitors per year, La Cartiera has the best footfall of all shopping centers in the region.”
