ECE is planning to develop a new shopping center in Budapest’s Óbuda district. The property, to go up on a site that used to house a former textile factory, will offer more than 170 shops on approximately 50,000 sqm over three levels. Construction is scheduled to break ground in 2019, with completion set for 2021. ECE, together with its partners, has invested more than €600m in Hungary since establishing its local subsidiary in 1996. The company currently operates five shopping centers with a total leasable area of 210,000 sqm, including one in Budapest and four in regional cities, making it the largest operator of inner-city shopping centers in Hungary.
