The electricity distribution and supply company, Electrica, reported losses of RON 175.5 million in the first half of 2022, compared to a net profit of RON 76.1 million in the same period last year. The main negative impact that contributes to the negative result is determined by the purchase price of electricity.
In the six-month period ended on June 30, 2022, EBITDA decreased by RON 255.8 million compared to the similar period of 2021, to RON 101.3 million.
Electricity purchase expenses increased by 127.9 percent, to RON 4.94 billion in the first six months, mainly as a result of the increase in the purchase price of electricity in the supply segment.
