The European Union has set aside €20m to modernize the agro-food sector in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The funds will be available between 2020-2024 through a program designed to support around 2,600 food producers throughout BiH. It’s part of an attempt by the EU to encourage the creation of new jobs as well as preserve existing ones threatened by the fallout of the COVID-19 pandemic. The support will focus on investment in primary production and processing capacities, strengthening advisory services and efforts to strengthen the rural economy.
