Eurocash records sales growth in Q4

28 February 2014

The Polish wholesale retailer Eurocash failed to increase its sales in the fourth quarter of 2013. The company posted PLN 4.23bn in sales for Q4, a mere 0.5-percent increase year-on-year. Eurocash’s sales for 2013 dropped by 0.4 percent year-on-year to PLN 16.53bn.

However, the company sees its 2013 results as a positive signal, given the difficult market conditions. “Stable organic growth, along with some acquisitions in the tobacco product distribution sector, made it possible for us to offset the negative impact of the Stokrotka chain’s weak performance,” says Jacek Owczarek, the company’s CFO.
