Expert Elektro is planning to open an additional five stores in Czech regional cities by the end of next year, the company’s CEO, Peter Weiss, told the server ihned.cz. The expansion plans were triggered by an increase in turnover and confidence that the trend will continue, Weiss said. The retailer’s turnover jumped by 16 percent to CZK 1.3bn in the fiscal year ending in March. Tablets, mobile phones and coffee machines were the top sellers. The retailer currently operates 49 stores across the Czech Republic. It is targeting regional cities with populations over 30,000. The first opening will be in Čáslav.
