CPI Property Group is expanding and modernizing its IGY Centrum shopping center in České Budějovice. The developer completed clearance work and started building a multiplex on a site opposite the existing IGY Centrum. The extension, called IGY2, is going up on the neighboring site, with shell work expected to be completed by the end of the year. A pedestrian bridge over Pekařská street, connecting IGY Centrum with IGY2 will be built early next year. CPI hopes to be able to open Nové Igy Centrum before Christmas 2017. Extension costs are estimated at CZK 420m, while modernization work on the existing IGY will cost CZK 330m. Nové IGY Centrum will offer 29,000 sqm of retail space in 130 shops as well as 700 parking spots, a nine-screen multiplex, restaurants, cafes and a food court and 5,000 sqm of office. IGY Centrum opened 10 years ago.
