Having toyed a couple weeks ago with the idea of shutting down the country entirely, Slovakia has entered the first phase of its economic restart by allowing stores of less than 300 sqm to open for business. This includes restaurants, who will only be able to serve food through a window and fashion stores, whose customers won’t be allowed to try on clothes. Stores that are bigger than 300 sqm can open as long as they tape off a sales area that doesn’t exceed that size. The loosening of restrictions includes outdoor food markets, car dealerships and some dormitories where people live on a long-term basis. People over the age of 65 will only be allowed to shop in the morning between 9:00 and 11:00.
