Two entrepreneurs from Zagreb decided to launch the first food outlet in Croatia. Located on Tkalčićeva street in northern Zagreb, Zabac sells surplus factory food at affordable prices as well as food with damaged packaging or that has almost reached its expiry date.
“We have realized that throwing food away is unacceptable from an ethical and economic aspect, because some people cannot afford to buy food and also natural resources, such as water, are exhausted causing environmental pollution,” Mario Zamboki, co-owner Zabac, told the state-run news agency Hina.
