The Globus hypermarket network produced profits of CZK 401m during its 2017/2018 financial year, an increase of 7 percent. Sales from its 15 stores rose just 1 percent to CZK 23.1bn. The company is pushing its own private brands, having increased the number it sells in April. All Globus hypermarkets have completed the installation of a new section called Zdravý svět (Health world) which will provide alternative products. Speaking with novinky.cz, its chief executive Hans-Jorg Bauer said “Investments into the modernization of hypermarkets were more than CZK 100m. We’ll continue with these modernizations during this financial year.” He claims the company increased its investments into wages and employee benefits by CZK 300m.
