Galeria Bronowice, located in Cracow, has achieved a “Good” rating under the BREEAM environmental certification regime, thanks to significantly lower than standard electricity consumption, the proximity of public transportation, the use of dedicated bike stands and a generous amount of green spaces designed into the project. The mall had been on the way to certification from the beginning having achieved a design-based rating before construction ever began. The building’s low energy consumption numbers were achieved largely by employing highly efficient equipment in traditionally energy-hungry components such as HVAC and lighting equipment.
