Griffin opens Hala Koszyki redevelopment

25 October 2016

Griffin Real Estate completed its flagship redevelopment project in Warsaw called Hala Koszyki. The investment is the first retail and restaurant hall in Poland featuring 18 restaurant concepts and 11 stores. Griffin Group started renovation work on the Hala Koszyki property in 2012, which it bought from Avestus Real Estate. Avestus bought the property in 2006 and had planned to develop 10,000 sqm of office space in three buildings on the site, plus retail and 160 high-end flats. It demolished a production hall on the location, leaving just two of the original gates.

Hala Koszyki is an adaptation of similar projects recently delivered across Europe, including Foodhallen in Amsterdamie, Mathallen in Oslo, San Lorenzo in Florence, or Mercado da Ribeira in Lisbon. Griffin Real Estate is the biggest investor on the Polish market, with €4.5bn AUM.
