The Swedish fashion retailer H&M doubled its Romanian sales during its 2012 fiscal year, bringing in SEK 635m (€74m). H&M’s fiscal year ran from Dec. 1, 2011 to Nov. 30, 2012. In the previous fiscal year, the company posted SEK 311m in sales.
The retailer opened eight stores in Romania between December 2011 and November 2012, bringing its regional network to 19 stores by the end of the 2012 fiscal year.
The first Romanian H&M store was opened in March 2011 at AFI Palace Cotroceni in Bucharest. The retailer now has locations in cities across the country, including Brasov, Cluj, Timisoara, Oradea, Constanta, Arad, Craiova, Braila, Iasi, Suceava and Sibiu.
H&M has more than 2,600 stores around the world. The company’s global sales increased by 10 percent during the 2012 fiscal year, hitting SEK 120.8bn (€14bn).
