Hamley’s to open in Warsaw

13 February 2017

Four Czech investors, who own the Hamley’s license in five Central European countries, are planning to open a second toy store in Poland. The flagship store in the CE region opened last year on Prague’s main shopping high street, Na Příkopě in Prague 1. One of the investors, Pavel Zavadil, was quoted in e-15 saying that Hamley’s will open a 1,600 sqm store in Warsaw in August or September. The Na Příkopě store is expected to produce a turnover of about CZK 300m in its first year and attract 2.7 million visitors. The investors also have a license for Slovakia, Hungary and Austria. They are considering opening in Vienna in 2018.
