HoReCa is suing the state for restricting activity and lack of compensation

The tourism industry and HoReCa are in one of the most difficult times in recent years, and many companies in this economic sector risk bankruptcy. The Employers’ Organization of Hotels and Restaurants in Romania has initiated the legal procedure to sue the authorities for restricting the activity and the lack of compensations, according to Daniel Mischie, the president of the organization.

“We are going against the law given by the Government, after which we will demand the compensations from the Ministry of Finance. We are taking action all over the country (…) Why do we suffer today? The moment you imprisoned me, although I respect all the rules you imposed, I believe you must compensate me. We don’t need the involvement of the state today if the state lets us work, but if the state wants to solve the health crisis by shutting down the industry, then it has to compensate it. There is no problem. We understand that it is a health problem, we understand to close or operate restricted, but we cannot pay for it. The state must pay for it,” said the president.
