Hornbach planning to expand across Slovakia, targeting not just Bratislava but also regional cities such as Žilina, Nitra, Trnava and Trenčín. It intends to open new stores more often than it has in the past.
The German DIY retailer currently operates three stores in Slovakia with 46,000 sqm of retail space. The retailer achieved a €66m turnover last year, or €1,500 per sqm. Revenues have jumped 18 percent in 2015, and Hornbach is optimistic about the results for this year as well, writes Trend Reality. In April, Hornbach opened a new store in the Bory retail zone in Bratislava.
