The Swedish furniture company IKEA has appointed Sara Del Fabbro as its new Chief Executive and placed her in charge of Croatia, Romania, Slovenia, Serbia and Ukraine. She will report to Belen Frau, Deputy Director of global retailing of Ingka Group, based in Malmo. Del Fabbro’s career in IKEA began in Bologna in 1999, while in 2014 she became deputy director of a store in Turin. By 2016, she had taken over management of Milano San Guiliano, rising to Deputy Executive Director for IKEA Italy in 2017. She replaces Stefan Vaoverbeke, who has moved into a role at the company as deputy head of global retail operations at Ingka Group.
